Daydreaming
I used to dread it
When my mind would wander
To a time where you and I
Was You and I
I used to dread it
When May flowers bloomed
A reminder of the birthdays
I’d no longer celebrate with you
I used to dread it
Daydreaming of my first love
Now those same dreams
Make days seem like cloud 9
teenage angst
A series of fuck its and oh wells
Like honeybun burgers
With watermelon sugar
And a side of artificial blue
Empty bookbags and clear minds
No schools can teach youth
Like experience that makes hearts dip n dive
Summer’s Over
The love was never lost
Only distant
Under palm trees I’m drifting
Off to see a world
Where I can see your face
A dream state
When cool winds kick in
Summers over
And I begin falling again
